January 18th, 2008
January 17th, over 1,000 concerned citizens gathered at the Capitol in Madison to rally for legislation that would protect the funding of Virtual Charter Schools, which is currently being assaulted by the WEAC (Wisconsin teachers union). (Hat Tip: Boots and Sabers)
Side Note: The article here listed the number as "hundreds".

Education: What Future?
January 1st, 2008
Here’s an interesting article by Phyllis Schlafly, referencing the latest issue of US News & World Report that lists the best careers for young people. Among them? Jobs that require no college diploma.
Schlafly eludes to something that I’ve said before: The skyrocketing price of a college education for our children isn’t paying off, anymore. […]
I’m From the Environmentalist Movement, and I’m Here to Scare Your Children
December 16th, 2007
Here’s a refreshing little film for children, that is sure to uplift and inspire them to be good little enviro-disciples…
I’m so glad that American children will now know that it’s their fault if we all get “barbecued”, and that natural disasters are the result of humans driving their cars to work. Nothing like a little […]
Unions 101

The topics of collective bargaining and the history of unions in America were introduced in the Wisconsin legislature under a new proposal.
Labor unions are all for it. School groups aren’t.
The bill, by Democratic State Senator Dave Hansen of Green Bay, would require every school […]

Hanukkah, Human Rights Day, winter break, the Islamic holy day Eid al-Adha, first day of winter and Kwanzaa all made the list. But no Christmas.
“It […]

November 21st, 2007
“Frankly, an anorexic who chooses to hunger strike is like Stephen Hawking giving up running marathons. That’s no sacrifice. But I hate hunger strikers in particular, because it’s a cheap way to win an argument. I used to do it as a child - holding my breath until I got what I wanted. And when […]
American Crosscut: All I am say-ing, is give vouchers a chance
November 18th, 2007
As I mentioned earlier, I’m not very proud of this Crosscut. If you’re interested in reading it, it’s about education tax credits and school vouchers. I found this discussion to be very frustrating, mainly because I believe that schools should be frugal with our tax dollars, and learn to live within a budget.
In my […]
Milwaukee Public Schools Get Some Well-Deserved Media Scrutiny
November 14th, 2007
The Milwaukee Public School system and it’s superintendent are under extreme scrutiny after attempting to pass a 16% property tax increase on its citizens.
Thankfully, a Milwaukee news channel, (TMJ Channel 4) decided to do a little investigation into the travel expenses of the MPS staffers over the past four years.
This video is not yet […]
