NBC Broadcasts the Motherload of all Hypocrisy
November 5th, 2007
While Matt Lauer is freezing his boxers off in the Antarctic preaching to we common folk about our ever-warming globe (Hmm…wonder how he got there? Did he take Met Transit?), the self-righteous NBC executives are slotting out 150 hours of carbon-producing programming to tell us, the average prime-time television watchers of America, to turn off our lights and stop making carbon-producing babies.
Hardy har har. These guys make me want to vomit into my little, girly hands. Blah. Blaaaaaah.
I find it interesting that the most carbon-producing industry on earth is telling us, the average people in America, to “reduce our carbon footprints”. Well, that would mean turning off our TV’s, Matt, resulting in the certain demise of your overpaid, obnoxious profession.
I turned NBC on for a few minutes this evening, and noticed how much they are encouraging everyone to watch their “150 hours” of “green programming”. Seriously. Yeah, and we’re all supposed to heed the preacher’s advice not to have extra-marital affairs, while he has hookers waiting for him in a tour bus in the church parking lot, honking the horn and hanging out of the bus windows.
The great thing about this “NBC Green Week” is that the folks at NBC are disillusioned enough to think that the rest of us are actually taking them seriously. And what does this mean, ladies and gentlemen? It means that we get to poke fun at their pompous asses for ONE WHOLE WEEK.
We have hit the comic jackpot.

Do these people even understand how foolish the look? What a bunch of condescending, pretentious, arrogant people we have trying to persuade us how to live our lives while they live their’s in the most “un-green” way.

well, I believe they had to go to antactica and show you “First Hand Video”.
Show what is actually happeing in the world. If you believe everything you read in your blog, you might believe that global warming is not happeing. If you go to some of the areas that are drastically effected by the warming, you’ll believe what you see.
But even when they show you factual evidence, you cry …. “but they took a plane there!”. This doesn’t change the fact that the earth is getting warmer and the ice in antactica is melting.
It seems to me like you can’t see for forest for the trees. Stop killing the messenger. they are reporting on things that are going on in the world. And these things ARE happeing.

What are they going to show us in Antarctica that proves anything? They are going to show us what they want us to see, not the truth… Contrary to what you’re claiming, the Antarctic ice sheet is not in fact melting. It’s just more lies and deception. It’s nothing more than selective reporting and alarmism. All you need to do is take 10 minutes and do some research beyond the American mainstream media reports to find the truth.
Here’s a tidbit from the “Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Climate Change” (a pro-climate change organization by the way):
“Contrary to all the horror stories one hears about global warming-induced mass wastage of the Antarctic ice sheet leading to rising sea levels that gobble up coastal lowlands worldwide, the most recent decade of pertinent real-world data suggest that forces leading to just the opposite effect are apparently prevailing, even in the face of what climate alarmists typically describe as the greatest warming of the world in the past two millennia or more.”
“Wingham et al. report that ‘overall, the data, corrected for isostatic rebound, show the ice sheet growing at 5 ± 1 mm year-1.’ To calculate the ice sheet’s change in mass, however, ‘requires knowledge of the density at which the volume changes have occurred,’ and when the researchers’ best estimates of regional differences in this parameter are used, they find that ‘72% of the Antarctic ice sheet is gaining 27 ± 29 Gt year-1, a sink of ocean mass sufficient to lower global sea levels by 0.08 mm year-1.’ This net extraction of water from the global ocean, according to Wingham et al., occurs because ‘mass gains from accumulating snow, particularly on the Antarctic Peninsula and within East Antarctica, exceed the ice dynamic mass loss from West Antarctica.’”
So in other words, you can look at East Antarctica and claim “alarm alarm!” and ignore what’s going on around the rest of the ice sheet… Which is what these morons do… Or you can look at the whole picture and realize that there is no emergency in Antarctica and it’s all just a bunch of media glam aimed at supporting Al Gore uber-sexy pop-culture environmental movement.

a tidbit of interest… Here’s a reprint of an article from 1922 talking about “Unprecedented Arctic Melting” … Makes you wonder.

I saw that! Check out the new video I posted, by John Stossel. They mention it there, as well.
Thanks, Ryan!

Arclightzero, if you had done a little more research, you would have found that the “Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Climate Change” is NOT in fact pro-climate change, and is partially funded by ExxonMobil. Furthermore, the group does none of its own primary research, so is in no position to evaluate the studies that it disseminates.

So are you saying that the “unprecidented Arctic melting” was not occurring in the 1920’s?
http://mclean.ch/climate/Arctic_1920_40.htm
Leave it to a Greenie to attempt to disprove facts by citing the “agenda” of the demonic capitalists. Intelligent debate doesn’t work that way, Brad. But then again, you folks don’t like debate, do you? And since when does a source have to be “pro-climate change” to be reliable?
I’m puzzled by your logic, Brad. You’re cryptic and cite no source. Come back with more data and maybe we’ll entertain your arguments.

Whoa! Looks like I struck a nerve there. Brad, chill out.
First off, the Center acknowledges a warming trend. That would be pro climate change. The difference is that they disagree that the warming trend has anything to do with carbon dioxide emissions. I would gather from your statement, however, that you would most likely disagree that they are pro climate change, since they deny CO2’s role in it.
Second off, who the hell cares who funds them? I could make the same arguments against any of the organizations that you would cite because I think that most environmental groups and the United Nations aren’t worth a damn and have agendas as well. However, that is beside the point. Information gets out there regardless of who funds them. It’s just a matter of who you choose to believe. The difference between you and us is that we look at both reports and decide based on logical reasoning. You, on the other hand, pick and choose what you want to hear or what best fits your agenda and then shut down anybody else who might have a differing opinion or idea.
Third, who cares where they get their data from? The data I cite here is from a report on their site, sure, but it is actually from these guys:
http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/index.cfm?page=1084
All the CO2 center did was reference the article. Of course, they could have made it all up, but I’m not sure how you can refute satellite data (which was used in this study).
Are you saying that ExxonMobile, in conjunction with the Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Climate Change” and with the backing of the Royal Society of the UK put together false satellite data to convince us that Antarctica is not in fact melting away into oblivion? My only question is where does Bush and the auto industry fit into this conspiracy?

LOL, Ryan! Don’t forget Cheney and Haliburton.
