Walk this way

October 30th, 2008 - Written by Joey

Yes, my good friends, it’s true.  John Perry of Aerosmith has come out of the closet and endorsed John McCain:

Aerosmith has generally left the politics to bands like U2 and the Dixie Chicks, but axeman Joe Perry says national security and economic woes have prompted him to split from the rest of the entertainment world and throw his support behind John McCain.

“We pretty much stay out of it, but seeing so many people come out for Obama, I just felt like ‘What the hell, I might as well raise my hand for this side,” Perry said from his Duxbury home.

The Bay State rockers have done a few fund-raisers for the Kennedy family over the years, but Perry’s endorsement of McCain marks a first for the platinum-selling guitarist/songwriter. A lifelong Republican, he said he was inspired to come forward because of ringing McCain endorsements from Rudy Giuliani and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“I’ve been a hardcore Republican my whole life,” he told the Herald. “My mother and father drilled into me from the very start that if you work hard and be positive, you’ll get what you’re working for. I guess I’m living proof of that.”

Of criticism about McCain’s age, Perry said: “My mother’s in her 80s and she does aerobics. My manager’s 70 and he’s right there. That doesn’t bother me.”

And despite lopsided polls, he urged his fans to get out and vote.

“I’m an optimist. It ain’t over till its over,” he said. “I think that he’s got a chance.”

Of the rocker’s endorsement, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said: “Joe Perry is an icon of rock-and-roll and a great American. John McCain absolutely appreciates his support.”

I wonder if “The Other Side” will just laugh this endorsement off since they are so “Jaded.” They will just say to look at the polls, you know, “Same Old Song and Dance.” The Democrats go “Round and Round” about how they can “Walk on Water”, when they really don’t have “What It Takes” to bring “Sunshine” to this country. What the dems. need to do is learn how to “Shut Up and Dance” and “Stop Messin Around” so they can work with the “Amazing” conservatives instead of “Livin on the Edge.” I am praying that republicans will be “Back in the Saddle” again next Tuesday. That would be “F.I.N.E.” with me. Otherwise we will be left with a “Blind Man” who just wants to “Eat the Rich.” It may be a little harsh, but if things go wrong next Tuesday it’s possible that the “Devil’s Got a New Disguise.” He talks about how he wants to take from the rich and give to the poor…that’s just “Crazy.” That’s where I would have to “Draw the Line.” If he thinks that everybody will be happy with his economic plan… “Dream On.” Whatever happens, I just hope the we can all “Come Together” as one nation. My feeling is if Obama wins, everything will be “Helter Skelter” for at least 4 years and we all will be screaming “No More, No More.” If McCain wins, I think that it will be a “Sweet Emotion.” Either way, I am going to watch the election coverage because “I don’t Want To Miss A Thing”

By the way, if McCain wins, do you think Alec Baldwin will be “Movin’ Out?”

(Who knew Aerosmith’s song titles could be so poetic?)

I would like to provide one gigantic rimshot for that post Joey’s coworker.

    BADUMP TSS!!!

That reminds me of a story though… one time I was hitting on this democrat chick so I could laugh at her and tell her I was a republican after she was into me. So I bought her some “cheese cake”, which of course led to some “love in an elevator”… than i noticed her “adam’s apple”. Turns out “dude looks like a lady”. So… joke’s on me I guess.

Anyways, I can’t stand Aerosmith. While I’m glad that there’s someone in the entertainment industry willing to back a republican, I wish it was someone I liked.

Well, I’m not a big Aerosmith fan either. I like Liv Tyler though. :-)

Anyways, at least Chuck Norris is backing McCain. If people only knew what Chuck Norris is capable of, perhaps more people would back McCain in fear. :-)

P.S. I leave you with a message I read somewhere : To all libs who mooch off the government, If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it.
